The line
Why we quote Clark
Clark is the line we quote for plain counterbalance work when the budget matters. IC trucks run from 3,000 lb to 18,000 lb on LP or diesel. Cushion tires suit indoor slabs, and pneumatic tires suit yards and dock aprons. The electric range runs up to 10,000 lb. Clark also builds reach trucks, order pickers, pallet jacks, stackers and tow tractors.
Much of the building stock around Akron and Canton is older plant space. Many of those buildings have lower clear heights, tighter column spacing and floors that have settled over the years. A compact cushion-tire truck on a two-stage mast often fits that space better than a tall three-stage truck. We measure the building before we quote, not after delivery.
Clark trucks also last. They stay in service a long time, and parts for older units are easy to find. That makes a used Clark easier to justify than a used truck with thin parts support. New Clark trucks are sold in Summit, Stark, Portage, Medina and Wayne counties. Buyers in Cleveland and the rest of Cuyahoga County can get used trucks, rentals and service from us.

Buying a used Clark forklift: what to check
These checks separate a good used truck from an expensive one. You can make every one of them before you commit.

Parts support is the reason to buy used Clark
Clark trucks stay in service for decades, and parts for older units are easy to find. That makes an older Clark a sound buy where a truck with thinner support would not be.

Engine hours vs lift hours
On IC trucks, these two numbers differ. A truck idling at a dock builds engine hours without doing much work. We read both meters where the truck reports them.

Mast wear and floor history
Ask where the truck worked. A Clark that spent its life on a broken floor shows it in the mast rollers and the front axle.

LP vs diesel condition
LP trucks usually run cleaner than diesel trucks at the same hours. On diesel trucks, we check for blow-by and injector condition before we recondition.

4 Should I buy a new or used Clark forklift?
The choice between a new and used Clark comes down to duty cycle (how many hours a day the truck works). On a light, single-shift job, a reconditioned truck is often the better business decision.
