Choose LP when a truck moves between outdoors and a well-ventilated indoor area, because LP burns cleaner. Diesel gives more torque and better fuel economy in sustained heavy outdoor duty. Diesel is usually the choice at the top of the capacity range. Neither belongs in an enclosed space without proper ventilation.

Air-filled pneumatic tires ride better on rough ground, while solid-pneumatic tires cannot puncture. Air-filled tires are the better choice on truly poor surfaces.
