Akron Forklifts sells new forklifts in Summit, Stark, Portage, Medina and Wayne counties, and quality-inspected used forklifts across Northeast Ohio. Our new lines are Bobcat, Clark, Noblelift, Sellick and Bulmor. We sell to plants, warehouses, distribution centers and contractors. Our used trucks come from every major make, including Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Cat, Mitsubishi, Doosan and Crown. In Cuyahoga County, including Cleveland, we sell used trucks only. We carry more than one brand, and that matters. A dealer with one brand recommends that brand for every job. We look at your load, aisle width, lift height, floor, duty cycle and power needs. Then we recommend the truck that fits the job.

How it works
The process
Application review
We ask about load weight and size, aisle width, lift height and floor condition. We also ask about hours per week and whether the work is indoors, outdoors or both. This step decides everything that follows.
Spec and options
We show you two or three different options. In our new-sales counties, that is often one new unit and one used. We state the trade-offs plainly.
Written quote
You get pricing for a specific unit. The quote includes any attachments and the delivery plan.

1 Which brands do you sell new?
Akron Forklifts sells new Bobcat, Clark, Noblelift, Sellick and Bulmor trucks. We also sell JLG and Genie aerial lifts and Kärcher floor care equipment. For used trucks, we sell quality-inspected units from all major makes, so a mixed fleet is not a problem.
2 Where do you sell new forklifts?
Akron Forklifts sells new forklifts in Summit, Stark, Portage, Medina and Wayne counties. In Cuyahoga County, including Cleveland, we sell quality-inspected used forklifts only. We rent, service, maintain and train in every county we cover, including Cuyahoga.
3 How do I know what capacity I need?
Start with your heaviest load, because a forklift’s rated capacity is not fixed. Capacity drops as you lift higher and as the load’s center moves farther from the forks. This is called derating. Give us the heaviest load, its size and the highest point you need to reach. We will spec the truck against the derated figure, not the headline one.
4 Electric or internal combustion?
Electric is usually the right choice for indoor work. It has no emissions, runs quieter and costs less to run. Modern lithium batteries also remove most of the charging limits that used to favor LP. Internal combustion (IC) still wins outdoors, on rough ground or in heavy nonstop duty. In a Northeast Ohio winter, yard work in snow and salt also points toward IC or a rough-terrain truck.
