An electric counterbalance forklift is almost always the right truck for indoor work. It has no exhaust, so it needs no extra ventilation and suits food, pharmaceutical and clean environments. It runs quieter, which matters in buildings where people work next to the trucks all day. Its running cost is also much lower than internal combustion once you compare electricity with fuel. Modern lithium-ion batteries have removed most of the limits that used to push operations toward LP. They allow charging during breaks, with no battery change room and no watering.

1 Lithium or lead-acid?
Lithium usually wins over the life of the truck in multi-shift operations, even though it costs more up front. It charges during breaks, needs no battery change room and no watering, and performs the same as the charge runs down. Lead-acid still makes sense for single-shift operations with an overnight charging window and a tighter budget.
2 Can an electric truck work outside at all?
An electric forklift can work outside briefly and on good surfaces. Crossing a yard or working a dock apron is fine. Internal combustion is for sustained outdoor work, rough ground or wet conditions. If the job is truly split, tell us the proportions. Do not just pick one and hope.
3 How long does a charge last?
An electric forklift charge lasts about a shift in typical duty. That depends heavily on lift height, load weight, travel distance and how hard the truck works. We size the battery to your actual duty cycle, not a nominal figure.
